The PCT has its ADZPCTKO, but did you know the Appalachian Trail has a kick-off gathering, too? It’s coming up, March 8-10, 2013, at Amicolala Falls State Park in Georgia.
Join the festivities — have fun and learn tips and tricks to make your thru-hike better. You’ll learn from authors, gear venders, and people who have already hiked the trail. This year, you can even meet Gene Espy, who was the second person to thru-hike the AT.
There’s still time for a lot of thru-hike hopefuls to adjust their packs and plans before hitting the trail. If that’s you, visit the ATKO page for details. I wish they were doing this when I did my thru-hike…it sounds like a lot of fun!
